Giving Thx.

Thanksgiving break went by in a bit of a hurry...I arrived to Blue Springs Wednesday morning, before 11ish and am leaving later today so I can work in the lab tomorrow morning before the last week of my last fall semester of classes begins. It was nice to be home, considering I haven’t been since August, when I pretty much jumped off the plane from LA and left to go back to the ‘ville. Everyone is doing well. We went shopping Wednesday and I did homework. On Thanksgiving, we went to church and had a Thanksgiving lunch-type-thing w/ my Aunt and Uncle + cousins & g-ma. I took a mid-afternoon nap and woke up to head to the plaza to watch the Christmas lighting ceremony. David Cook, Blue Springs’ own American Idol, was flipping on the switch. God, I love Christmastime (I’m not being sarcastic either!). After the lighting ceremony happened, Christmas caroling ensued. And it was really, really nice.

I enjoyed a nice lunch with my best friend, Mallory. I can’t believe we've been friends for over eight years. And that she’s getting married in May. We went to On The Border and I had guacamole and thought of Hollywood. It was nice to catch up. The great thing about Mallory is we can go without seeing each other with minimal talking for months and MONTHS. But get us together and it’s like we haven’t left each others’ sight.

It made me reflect on for what I was really thankful. But then it just kind of spiraled into what I had thought this semester was going to be like, coming from my summer.

I wouldn’t say that things that happen to me are exactly predictable. Okay, they’re not. But I kind of wish they were. The relationships I have or thought I would have are all kind of in limbo right now; mix in new people I’ve met or have re-entered and it’s just become one big clusterfuck.

But enough about that.

Things I am working on design-wise :

Wishbone stuff with Leah! Which I am super stoked about!
T-shirt design for the WRC (Women's Resource Center)
4 motion graphics videos due on Finals week (eek)
A website and 2 flash elements for VC class (yikes)
Show brochure for the art gallery
Music poster for a percussion masters recital

Two weeks left and I am one semester away from getting my degree and being set freeeeee!
