8 minutes

Guys, I just had the silliest eight minutes of my life just now. Today, after a mini-breakdown about hating my job...I had a talk with Cathy and she helped me figure out that the time alone I have at night should be used to better myself. The night monitor job is really lonely. The preceptors hang around until about 1am but then I'm alone most of the night. Which isn't that big of a deal---like I've spent 7 hours alone before. But at night, while everyone is asleep, and no one really to even chat with online--it's kind of a sad life to lead. Granted, it's been...what, four nights? But still. So the point of this is that I've decided I'm going to do 8 Minute Abs. Not only does it have really silly music and they call you "gang" a lot...but it passes up 8 minutes of my time spent just surfing the 'net. I've got to tell you, though, I feel very silly laying down on the ground and doing sit-ups with all of these windows. I swear...one of these days, someone is going to walk by and think I'm a total freak on a leash.

  1. I read on Lifehacker that you should try pushups instead of crunches or situps because of the pressure it takes off your back.

    ALSO, I'm taking a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction class right now. You might google that shit.

  2. Lol, at work, we usually have hours of downtime before and after rushes. I usually spend that time doing yoga and reading for classes. Just remember, there's only two more Tuesdays.
