So I’ve been back in the midwest since last Wednesday and it’s been pretty great! I leave again tomo with my sisters and we’ll chill in DTLA for a week before they head back to the midwest again. So let’s see, got here Wednesday night around 11pm, hung out with the fam. Thursday, Kenny came to Blue Springs (with flowers!) and we headed to Knoxville to hang out with his fam. We made dinner (Kenny cooked brats, potatoes and green beans) and I prepared the lemon squares (YUM). A pleasant dinner took place on deck in their lovely backyard, listening to a local oldies station. Pretty quaint. The evening wrapped up with watching Up In The Air with Kenny’s parents. It was a pretty good movie! I enjoyed it.
The next day, we headed back to BS and when we got here, we hung out with my fam, Kenny got his haircut and then we had dinner at Outback Steakhouse. It was mediocre. Neither of us were too impressed with the food. We should’ve just gone to Applebee’s (BLONDIES). We were pretty pooped from all the traveling so we just went home and hung out until Kenny left to go to Kurt’s.
Saturday was Jill’s Open House. Tons of Jill’s friend stopped by and it was fun to be around all the excited energy. K & I had to run to Target to get more chocolate fountain mix, those kids love fonduing. After the open house, K and I went to he mall. Janessa gave us this really random coupon for a free 8x10 and a free 10x13 picture so we had a really silly photoshoot. The back rooms were full and we were in a hurry, so we had to do poses in the front where people were walking by. It was really silly and ridiculous and funny. We had to do this really awkward pose where we look at each other and our foreheads touch. Totally weird. We then met up with my family and watched that new Shrek movie. It was decent; the third one was still the best. Fran liked it though and was super cute sitting next to me and giggling.
Sunday was graduation and Monday was Jill’s family party so both days were busy busy busy. It was so nice to be with my family and watch my baby sister graduate and of course to see Kenny again.
I’m so lucky and happy to be where I am right now. A year out of college and I’ve only had graphic design-related jobs. I LOVE my job now and I’ve kept good contact with my great friends. I have a great, handsome boyfriend who loves and supports me. I never thought I’d be the type to constantly talk about him or “flaunt” my relationship around or “lose my true self.” Those quotes are there for sarcasm. I’m happy, unashamed and am so glad I’ve gotten rid of the bad energy in my life. It was just bringing me down and why would I surround myself with jealous, unmotivated, talentless people? I wouldn’t, and that’s why I don’t.
