It feels like forever since I’ve said that. Well technically, it’s been about a year (not forever). I always feel really anxious right before a flight but have grown accustom (ha, customs) to getting to LAX and navigating my way around the airport. It’ll be weird to go back to Kirksville (even if it’s only for a few hours). Never thought I’d be back there ever again (except for some random Homecoming game when I’m old or if my kids (that sounds weird) decide to go there). However, Kenny and I will find ourselves back in the ‘ville to visit some friends before we head to Quincy (Q-town as those twins from YAL used to say) to check-in for Jordan and Abbie’s wedding.
A bit nervous because I’ve been around Jordan and Abbie once (two years ago for Kenny’s birthday) and it’s not the normal set of friends that I’m (sorta) used to in KC. Change is good, though. There’s just so much pressure for a first impression. I’m sure I’ll be fine. Holy shit this post has a ton of parenthetical remarks (see).
Almost off of work and then I’ll walk home, do some laundry, clean-up the apartment and just lay low for the night. Hopefully I can make myself fall asleep at a decent hour---tomorrow night I’ll probably stay up talking to Joyce! So excited!
