90210

Happy 9-02-10 eve! (does that even make sense?)

I figure that I should update since it’s been a few days since my last post. Not too much going on here. Just the usual work grind. I was discussing with my co-worker how working doesn't really feel like working. It's just kinda hanging around, setting up jobs, graphic designin', reading blogs and chatting on iChat. It really is pretty awesome! Now if only I can pick up this job and drop it into KC, everything would be just perfect.

This past week, I met Kenny's BFF, Matt Brawner. He works for Beta (Theta Pi) and he was in town to do some work at USC. We coordinated a time and I headed to USC during my lunch break. That campus is huge and BEAUTIFUL. Anyway, it was the first time I met Matt and he was so so SO nice. I told Kenny that his BFF practically gave me a toothache he was so sweet. Kenny's friends are all so nice and they all seem very grown-up. Maybe because they've been in the "real world" for awhile. I guess I tend to have younger friends (Ashley Long), not saying you guys are immature, promise! So hanging out with him was super nice and he mentioned possibly settling down in KC, so it's pretty definite that if Kenny and I ever want to settle down (in a few years) that it will be in KC.

Aside from that one social engagement I had, nothing much has been going on. I've decided that I'm going to do a series of small watercolor pieces. My subject is going to be hot air balloons. I know it seems random, but I remember working on the 36th floor when I worked at BL and staring at the hot air balloons on the rare occasion one was out. It was always such a nice distraction from the senseless discussions going on around me. On the days when the job was unbearable, I would imagine myself jumping out of the window and on to the hot air balloon and flying away. So, I guess it's sort of an homage.

I will post pics of the finished project (hopefully soon).
