Taking Detours.

As the semester winds down, I find myself with more time to... blog. It’s finals week this upcoming week, and I will be done at approximately 8pm-ish on Tuesday evening. Motion Graphics, Viscom and Illustration finals are all on Monday, meaning we turn in final projects. The great thing about being an art major is that you haul ass all semester and finals week is usually a breeze. I took my health final last week and I have an advertising final on Tuesday, which is dependent on if I do well on the paper she is in the process of grading. If I do well (which I predict, not to toot my own horn, but toot toot)...then I don’t have to take the final. Ballin’!

Anyway, the point of this post is to talk a bit about working at Detours, the school’s travel magazine. It’s been an interesting experience, though I thought I would have more freedom on how my layouts looked. The look and feel of the magazine is the same across the board so I had to conform, which was interesting and made it even harder for me to design. Does that sound like it should be the opposite? I definitely think so. I don’t have *.pdfs of my stories (they’re on the office computer and my art director changed a few stuff on mine) but I thought I would post some pics of “the office” and the magazine itself.

I am SO ready for this semester to be over. I’m ready for the most exciting semester of my academic career! I AM SO SO PUMPED. Like, you wouldn’t believe.
