A few posts below where I talk about tall people, I failed to mention one of my favorite tall actors, Vince Vaughn. I also just finished watching The Break-Up, which also stars Jennifer Aniston. I really enjoyed the movie. Vince Vaughn cracks me up! (another favorite of mine is Dodgeball). I feel really iffy about the ending of the movie. *slight spoiler alert* Granted, it's a realistic ending...and not at all like a typical "Hollywood movie ending" where they get back together. The movie itself gave me a lot to think about. A particular scene that stands out for me was when Vince Vaughn is at the bar talking about how he was really hurt and didn't understand why she was upset with him when she was the one that broke things off initially. Then his friend totally calls him out by saying that he always puts up a guard and that he never really cares about anyone but himself. "The poor girl never stood a chance," said Vince Vaughn's friend. It took a lot of guts for Brooke (Jen Aniston's character) to just walk away with some form of dignity. It was really sad when Vince Vaughn finally owned up to his mistakes and re-professed his love to her and she pretty much shot him down. The ending was interesting because they ran into each other, months after their official break-up. You can tell that the feeling is still there and it leaves you assuming that things work out okay in the end.
I don't really know what prompted me to write so much about that movie, besides the fact that I just watched it and didn't really know what else to write. The moral of the story is that sometimes timing is just not on your side and the best that you can do is just roll with it. Things will work themselves out in the end. I'm a firm believer in that.
In other news:
Half an hour in this shift left and then ONE MORE SHIFT tomorrow and I get two weeks off.
Totally stoked,
