So tonight, I was googling myself and I found this blogpost from last November that mentions me. Sah-weet! My hair looks kind of stupid in that picture, though. CHECK IT OUT. Yeah, okay, so I was googling myself! I like to see if there's anything new that comes up. Nothing out of the ordinary: all my freakin' blogs, the website I have yet to update and random social networking profiles show up and additionally, the Demetri Martin official fan list.
Today was a pretty okay day. I woke up a little before 3pm and I went to the rec. I just have NOT been in the "working out" mode as of late. But I still force myself to do it. I blame it on two things:
1. The heat. IT IS SO SO HOT. Living on the 5th floor of C-hall makes the air very thick. And though I have a window unit AC, that little sucker works hard to cool a 3-person room. Why am I in a 3-person room? Who knows.
2. BUGS. ARE. EVERYWHERE. I have so many bug bites. For those of you who know me at all, know that I have horrible self-control (in most and all aspects of my life) so not scratching these bug bites is quite a task.
Okay, back to my day.
So after I worked out, I took a cold shower (IT IS SO HOT) and I drank a bunch of water. Then, I picked up Cathy and we went to La Pa for 99 cent margs. We usually get frozen margs, but they didn't have any because of this ridiculous heat. So we just got it on da rocks. It was just fine. I could not enjoy fine dining because it was very hot in the restaurant. I ate a very small amount of my food and downed a margarita. Cathy and I retreated back to her place and watched Never Been Kissed. I drank a beer. Cathy and I watched the storm outside. She smoked a cig and we proceeded to drink pepsi+rum. We video chatted with Amber (best part of the night!). Around 10, I headed to the Dukum. I was just going to have 1 beer, but it slowly turned into 4 -- again displaying my lack of self control. There was a pretty good crowd out and one of Kenny's old roommates was in town, Ben. Even though I didn't like, hang out with the kid, I kind of miss just seeing him around. I think that's what I'll miss about Kirksville. I know that my really, really good friends and I will see each other in the future...but it's those other people who I really enjoy but aren't really close with that I'm going to miss. Okay, enough with the sappiness.
I was about 3 minutes late to work. Now it's 5:36am. Tonight I dominated a bunch of usatoday.com games online. I was kickin' ass with those word searches and that game where it's like a long string of before & afters. I am also about to play a bunch of rounds of Ken Ken.
Things are still fabulous with me. Tomorrow/today is Wednesday...the best day of the week. After this shift, I only have two more shifts and then I have 2 weeks off! June went by so fast. I don't want my Kirksville life to end. But all good things come to an end.
- Jessica.
