The next morn, I checked into C-hall, where I will be residing for the next two months. I totally forgot about living on campus. Here are a few things I forgot:
- It is very tricky to shave your legs in the shower. Space is limited and your flexibility is challenged.
- I forgot how uncomfortable it was to take a shower in the dorms. The water pressure sucks and if you're flailing your arms and singing, you seem to hit every wall in the small, small shower. (hypotethical situation about the arms and singing)
- I'm determined to take the stairs every time I go to my room. I live on the 5th floor. We'll see how long this spurt of activeness stays.
- Maintenance man banging on my door at 8am. In an attempt to condition myself for my 12-7am shifts, I went to bed at 4:30am.
- Twin size beds, ugh.
Last night while sitting around Cathy's house, Steph, Amber, Cathy and I were watching television. We watched Wipeout (best hour of my week so far), So You Think You Can Dance (emotional rollercoaster, I'll tell ya) and The Duel. During The Duel, we see this commercial for FREE ROOTBEER FLOATS AT SONIC UNTIL MIDNIGHT! Only on June 3rd! We all kind of stopped and looked at each other...someone asked what day it was, and in less than a minute, we got our shit together and headed to Sonic. The service was very efficient. Cathy barely pulled into a spot and we got our floats and we were on our way to the square. We get to the square and we see a dog with no collar run past us. Okay, no biggie. THEN! Another dog walked by (also without a collar). But this one (later to be named Rootbeer or Corgi Romano) stuck around. Though he had big balls and ticks, we still loved him the same and he became our new friend. We followed Corgi around Kirksville while sippin' on our rootbeer. And then he ran off and we lost him forever. Talk about another emotional rollercoaster. Afterwards, we went back to Cathy and Steph's and twittered about our experiences.
To end the night, I visited K-squared (Kenny and Kurt) and we watched a few episodes of GREEK. What a silly show and even sillier commentary from K-squared. I then made Kenny watch these new ABC commercials featuring various actors and actresses from ABC shows, living together. The interaction is humorous. I headed back to C-hollah(!) and just chilled until I fell asleep. Today's a new day that I'm sure I'll blog about later.
- Jessica.
I kinda miss Kirksville sometimes. But then I remember that I'm not missing Kirksville itself, but cool people who were there. Cool people like you!
ReplyDeleteWhy are you living in C-Hall now?
I'm night monitoring at JBA June/July. But I've been so restless during the day that I emailed Tim today asking if he had a job for me for during the day. I'm ridiculous. I miss you so much Gar-Bear!
