Cue "Thank You" by Dido

As I sit here on Thanksgiving night, my feet hurt from working 8 hours (yes, time-and-a-half), my body aches from the flu and my throat is groggy. It's my first holiday away from my family (was I supposed to count Veteran's Day?) and I'm too sick to go out with the friends I've made here. I was supposed to venture to North Hollywood tonight with some buds to feast on some grub or I was going to stay in downtown LA to feast on some grub, but I opted out of both and grabbed some food from Bottega and feast on what I can stomach.
I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm supposed to be super healthy because I've been working out and eating fairly decent and drinking plenty of fluids! But I think my 40+ hour work week, staying up late and excessive working out every day are finally catching up to me.

I miss my family.

Last night, my parents celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary by renewing their vows at church and then a reception at Adam's Pointe Golf Club. I made a dvd slideshow for them and they said they cried. I miss them all so much! Pics I stole from Jill's FB:

The fam without me :(

They got hitched approx 25 years ago!!!

Anyway, so it's Thanksgiving so I'm going to list things I am thankful for:

1. California Weather : even though I enjoy warm hats, scarves and snow boots, I have found alternative California attire. Light-weight scarves, suede boots and cardigans are just as helpful during these chilly (by chilly, I mean 60ish degrees) nights.

2. My family.

3. My BFFs: Amber, Joyce, Ashley, Blake, Mal amongst other great friends who I've kept in contact.

4. The most understanding guy I know, K. I think he's the only one who will put up with my crazy bullshit.

5. Going back home to Blue Springs in less than a month!

6. Having a great job.

7. Doing well for myself so far away from my comfort level!

8. eBay

There's more, but I need to go lie down. I'm about to pass out, I feel so sick!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

- Jessica.

  1. Your parents look as if they've hardly aged! I do love me some Endayas, and was so thankful I got to see Janessa and Jill for the 4 hours last Tuesday. Hope all is well in California! I know what it's like to miss home.
