I've had some really great days as of late. On Wednesday, I worked 5:30-2:00pm and it went by fairly quickly. Afterwards, I worked out and swung by the library to check out their DVD collection. They have the original "Yours, Mine and Ours" starring Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda! I LOVE that movie and am always looking for it. To celebrate, I grabbed a burger from D-Town and headed home. Watched a few movies, talked to K and called it a night.
On Thursday, I met up with Blanca, and we had lunch at The Staples Center (since my cousin drove last time, I hadn't realized that it was a reasonable half hour walk from my place). How convenient! We had lunch at Carvers or something like that. They have a pretty good creme brûlée, YUM. Afterwards, we walked around LA Live and ventured to the newest movie theatre off of Olympic. It's huge! And so new! It just opened on November 3rd, so not very many people know about it yet. It was pretty deserted. We ended up watching "Precious," based on the book "Push." It's directed by Tyler Perry and Oprah (omg she's resigning??) and includes a very plain looking Mariah Carey and Mo'nique. Anyway, the movie was good, I'd recommend it. After the movie, we bought some alcohol, met up with Wendy and chilled at Blanca's. It was SO nice to be around really funny and cool girls. It felt like home. After hanging out, we walked Wendy to her bus stop and B and I ate at Pete's Café, this small restaurant across from my building. I had THE best fries and goatcheese of my existence and we also splurged and got a chocolate tart a la mode. YUM. (reminder to work out extra)
Yesterday, I worked. After work, we randomly got tickets to New Moon. How we got tickets this soon to opening night is beyond me. Ignacio, Ash, Hannah, Chels and Blanca were good movie buddies. We got too many snacks and finished them all before the actual movie started. Also, that Taylor Lautner has NO fat on that bod. I know I wasn't into the first book or movie...
BUT.
Okay, New Moon was pretty good!!! Hannah forced the book into my backpack so I guess I have some reading to get to... Today's agenda: errands, work out, find something to wear to the Lakers game and go to work.
Hope this finds you all doing well!
- Jessica.
Oh, I really want to see that "Brothers" movie. Natalie Portman is so cute!
