Went to a BBQ with Rach. It’s funny how Vietnamese parties are just like Filipino parties. That means, a “BBQ” is when you just eat what you would normally eat for dinner (rice, etc) but instead of indoors, you eat it outside. You still use glassware, plates, etc. Man, I really wanted a cheeseburger, too. Saw fireworks in Burbank. I never liked fireworks as a kid...I think it was because I hated lighting them and then running away (not very fast at running). But I really don’t mind watching them at all. One 4th of July, my family and I went to Washington D.C. (how cliché), and they were sooo loud. Maybe it was because we were right by the Washington Monument and that’s close to where they were setting them off. Maybe my hearing has just gotten worse, but fireworks are pretty tolerable now. One might even say I enjoy them. The fireworks display at Disneyland was so very magical that I shed a tear or two (not exaggerating).
Best quote from this year:
Someone: ”Is it time to watch fireworks yet?”
Rachel: “Nah, I’ll just watch it on YouTube later.”
